CHINA, November 16, AsiaPort -- As China reduces timber output by 10 percent a year, the shortage of timber products is expected to widen in the coming decade.
Rapid economic development in China, and the ban on exporting log by other countries for the purpose of environmental protection is bound to make China feel the pinch in timber supply.
Under such situations, the state forestry administration will grow fast growing trees in forests in the northeastern and southern regions, and in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, to ease the expected strained supply of timber.
