Indians Denounce Invasions

Diário da Amazônia
August 1, 2000

Indian leaders have decided to enlist the aid of the United Nations to help prevent the increasing number of invasions by land thieves and loggers. The Indians have denounced invasions in 52 conservation units in Rondônia, including Indian reservations, state parks, biological reserves, and extractive reserves. They have the support of an Argentine civil organisation, as well as lawyer Liliane Toja, who will deliver the denunciations to the United Nations.
