Indonesian Govt to Revoke Ten Forest Concession Licenses

JAKARTA, Dec 8 - The forestry ministry will revoke the license of at least 10 forest concessionaires before the end of this year for failure to comply with the country's forestry law, a report said Friday.

Forestry Minister Nurmahmudi Ismail already signed decision to cancel the license of three concessionaires, the newspaper Bisnis Indonesia said.

Ismail said the companies each held a 50,000 concession area, had violated the rule and failed to pay reforestation fund and other forestry levies.

He said at the same time the ministry will issue new licenses for concessionaires.
