ASERA IS INVADED BY SAWIT
Asera is a subdistrict of Kendari, is the northeast of Southeast Sulawesi.
Nowadays, Asera is being drilled by oilpalm investors. At least, there is
plantation owned by PTPN (state owned plantation) and some investors have
surveyed the possibilities to expand oilpalm plantations there. The
indigenous people has been resettled to another area and they were
replaced by transmigrants who are prepared for the program in the NES
(nucleus-estate-small holders) system.
According to the indigenous people, they never had a chance to ask about
their right or their land status. So, in near future, Asera will be
another new huge oilpalm plantation, after Bungku, in Central Sulawesi.
