FUNDING APPEAL

Forests.org, Inc. Receives Non-Profit Status

June 23, 2000

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that I announce that Forests.org, Inc. has

been granted non-profit status.  As a "501c3" organization, your

donations to Forests.org are now tax-deductible, including past

donations after November 22, 1999.

Forests.org's work is at a critical stage.  Organizational and

technical systems have been upgraded, and are now ready to become

fully operational.  Within the next several months major innovations

will occur.  Pan-tropical interactive rainforest maps will be made

available on the Internet for the first time, a comprehensive

evaluation will be carried out in order to improve the services and a

"Tropical News Desk" will be established to better synthesize

information into original press releases, action alerts and

background materials.  The portal search engines, document archive

and email news service will continue and be improved.

At your earliest convenience, please make a contribution to

Forests.org's Internet based forest conservation advocacy campaign.

With your assistance, Forests.org, Inc. can continue to provide

methods for you and others to participate in global forest

conservation struggles and successes.  Checks should be made out to

"Forests.org, Inc." and sent to:

Please include your email address to allow us to easily acknowledge

your gift.  I look forward to hearing from you, and continuing to

work together to achieve the goal of global forest sustainability.

For the Earth,

Glen Barry
