Portland, OR<\/strong> \u2013 As part of a broad commitment to corporate social responsibility, Wright\u00a0Business Graphics, the West Coast\u2019s largest trade-only printed products manufacturer,\u00a0announced today it has achieved certification to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative\u00ae\u00a0(SFI\u00ae) chain-of-custody standard across its Oregon and Washington locations.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt Wright Business Graphics we have a strong commitment to the environment, and\u00a0so do our customers,\u201d said Gordon Klepec, VP of Sales and Marketing. \u201cSFI chain-ofcustody\u00a0certification plays a critical role in our environmental policy, and empowers\u00a0our customers to make an educated choice about the printed products they buy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Non-profit SFI is a comprehensive, independent certification program that works with\u00a0environmental, social and industry partners to promote responsible forest management\u00a0in North America and responsible fiber sourcing worldwide. More than 180 million acres\u00a0are certified to the SFI forest management standard in North America \u2013 making it the\u00a0largest single forest standard in the world. It is based on 14 core principles that promote\u00a0sustainable forest management, including measures to protect water quality,\u00a0biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and Forests with Exceptional Conservation\u00a0Value.<\/p>\n

Through SFI chain-of-custody certification, companies must have a tracking system in\u00a0place so they can tell customers how much certified, responsible sourcing and\/or\u00a0recycled content is in a product.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy achieving SFI chain-of-custody certification, Wright Business Graphics joins\u00a0progressive organizations that want to show they are supporting sources that can be\u00a0trusted,\u201d said SFI President and CEO Kathy Abusow. \u201cSFI labels are recognized\u00a0globally, and provide a visual cue so customers know they are buying products from\u00a0sources that are legal and responsible.\u201d<\/p>\n
