\"Support\u00a0WASHINGTON, D.C.<\/strong> \u2014 The Sustainable Forestry\u00a0Initiative\u00ae (SFI) is proud that the National Park\u00a0Foundation<\/a>, the official charity of America\u2019s national parks,\u00a0has selected to package the official 2015 White House\u00a0Easter Egg<\/a> in a gift box made from paperboard certified to\u00a0the SFI\u00ae Standard.<\/p>\n

The White House Easter Egg Roll takes place in\u00a0President\u2019s Park on the South Lawn of the White House.\u00a0This year\u2019s theme, \u201c#GimmeFive,\u201d encourages Americans\u00a0across the country to share five things they are doing to\u00a0eat better, be more active, and lead a healthier life, and\u00a0supports the First Lady\u2019s Let\u2019s Move! initiative to help kids grow up healthy and have the opportunity to\u00a0reach their full potential.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so pleased to be part of this celebration again this year. SFI\u00ae is much more than a forest\u00a0certification standard. We are helping kids switch from screen time to tree time by working with groups\u00a0such as the Boy Scouts of America and Project Learning Tree, which help kids connect with nature and\u00a0gives them opportunities to be outside and active,\u201d said Kathy Abusow, President and CEO of SFI Inc.<\/p>\n

Investments that help keep forests healthy in turn help to keep the communities and people that rely on\u00a0them healthy too. Of the 250 million acres certified to the SFI Standard, more than 200 million acres are\u00a0available for people to use for recreation. A third of these forests in the U.S. are state lands.<\/p>\n
