WASHINGTON, D.C. and Ottawa, ON<\/strong> \u2014 The Sustainable Forestry Initiative\u00ae Inc. (SFI) is pleased to\u00a0announce the appointment of Elizabeth Woodworth as Vice President of Communications and Community\u00a0Engagement. Woodworth joins SFI with deep experience in the forest sector and a proven track record of\u00a0consumer and community engagement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so thrilled to welcome Elizabeth to SFI. Our work starts with a standard, but SFI is much more \u2014\u00a0it\u2019s a community that stands for the future of forests. I know that Elizabeth\u2019s passion for forests and her\u00a0ability to represent and engage the forest community will help us to continue to heighten SFI\u2019s impact\u00a0and importance,\u201d said Kathy Abusow, President and CEO of SFI Inc.<\/p>\n

Woodworth oversees all external communications, including media coverage, public relations, website\u00a0content and social media channels. She is also responsible for marketing the SFI brand, including\u00a0developing messaging and materials to raise global brand awareness and educate diverse audiences\u00a0about the many benefits of the SFI program.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining SFI, Woodworth worked in the forest sector where she was responsible for customers in\u00a0the U.S., Europe and Asia. Her work also involved raising awareness of the importance of forest\u00a0certification in responsible sourcing. She also brings hands-on brand management and marketing\u00a0experience.<\/p>\n

Woodworth received a BA in International Studies and French from the University of Richmond, an MBA\u00a0from the Wharton School and an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
