Environmental education helps meet emerging challenges. The United Nations estimates that over the next 30 years the world’s population will increase from 7.7 billion to 9.7 billion. This growth will place greater pressure on our planet’s resources, requiring ever more sustainable solutions to supply our needs. Meeting the ecological, economic, cultural, and spiritual needs of the world’s people will require understanding and creative problem solving.
PLT reaches millions of kids every year. Environmental education equips learners with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to address complex environmental challenges in the 21st century. PLT delivers education solutions aligned with school curriculum, reached 3 million students with environmental education in 2019, and trains approximately 15,000 educators every year. Consistently rated as one of the best professional development events they have ever experienced, most educators attend a PLT workshop because they were recommended to it by a colleague.
PLT is award winning. PLT is the winner of a Teachers’ Choice Award in 2020 for its Carbon & Climate curriculum for grades 6-8 and in 2019 for its Energy in Ecosystems curriculum for grades 3-5.
