Jason Metnick, SFI Senior Director of Market Access and Product Labeling, shares an overview of GRAPH EXPO, held October 3-6 in Chicago.
As a first-time exhibitor at GRAPH EXPO, I was impressed with the wide array of print professionals in attendance. Our team was fortunate to meet people across the print spectrum at our booth and our presentations and bring heightened awareness to forest certification and responsible sourcing.
As the title sponsor of GRAPH EXPO’s GREENspace, it was great to see such interest in the area. We had a lot of really good conversations about what SFI Chain of Custody can do to help those in the print industry. We met quite a few among the growing list of printers who already have SFI CoC certification, and other printers who are looking to get their company SFI CoC certified. Graph Expo has given us another venue to get the word out that when you source SFI-labeled paper, packaging or printed products, you show your commitment to responsible forestry. You can strengthen that commitment by:
- Creating procurement policies which recognize products certified to all credible forest certification standards, including SFI.
- Telling your customers about options for SFI labeled papers and using SFI’s on-product labels for a variety of projects.
- Learning more facts about SFI. For example, did you know that more land is certified to SFI in North America than any other standard? That means that SFI Program Participants offer a stable supply of quality paper products from legal, responsible sources.
