SFI will submit attendance logs to SAF post-event. Sign up sheets will be available each day at the registration desk.

Canadian Institute of Forestry

Continuing Forestry Education Credits

Credits Overview:

Up to 7.25 CFE credits for attending main conference sessions and 3 CFE credits for participating in the SFI Implementation Committee Session and Regional Breakouts.

Method for Submitting:

Participants self-report the session information in their log that they will submit to CIF.

The Wildlife Society

Up to 13
Professional Development Certificate Credits

Credits Overview:

Up to 13 credits in Category I of the Certified Wildlife Biologist®/ Professional Development Certificate Program. One credit can be earned for every hour of learning.

Method for Submitting:

Attendee self-report hours completed on their TWS renewal application or Professional Development Certificate application.

International Society of Arboriculture

Up to 18.25
ISA Continuing Education Units for professionals holding ISA certifications

Credits Overview:

Up to 18.25 (18 hours and 25 minutes) ISA Continuing Education Units for professionals holding ISA certifications for the following sessions:

  • Providing Readiness and Accountability: Using the SFI Urban Forest Standard Investment: Arborist (0.5 hour), BCMA-Management (0.5 hour), Urban Forest (0.5 hour)
  • Downtown MontrĂ©al Urban Forestry Tour: Arborist (1.5 hours), BCMA-Management (1.5 hours), Urban Forest (1.5 hours)
  • SFI Climate Smart Forestry: From Science to Practice: Arborist (2.75 hours), BCMA-Management (2.75 hours), Urban Forest (2.75 hours)
  • From Data to Decisions: Spatial Tools for Sustainable Forest Management: Arborist (1 hour), BCMA-Management (1 hour), Urban Forest (1 hour)

Method for Submitting:

Professionals with ISA Certifications will have to make note of the ISA CEU code and fill out the CEU sign in sheet on-site at the event.   

Forest Professionals of British Columbia

Credits Overview:

The FPBC employs a 1:1 ratio for any learning activity. In other words, a registrant can report one CPD hour, or any portion of an hour, for an hour (or any portion of an hour) spent learning.

Method for Submitting:

CPD hours must be declared during your registration renewal;
CPD hours must be entered and tracked in the FPBC CPD online tracking tool.

Association of Alberta Forest Management Professionals

Up to 6.75
Continuing Competency Credits

Credits Overview:

Up to 6.75 hours.

Method for Submitting:

Members self-report hours through a continuing competence report form through their myaafmp.ca account. Members will need to upload supporting documentation of participation.

Association of Saskatchewan Forestry Professionals

Up to 6.75
Continuing Competency Credits

Credits Overview:

Up to 6.75 hours for attending main conference sessions.

Method for Submitting:

Members are required to maintain their continuing competence records and self-report to the ASFP.

Ontario Professional Foresters Association

Up to 6 hours per day
of Self-Reported Continued Education Credits

Credits Overview:

Up to a maximum of six hours of learning per day.

Method for Submitting:

Members are required to maintain and self-report their continuing competence records and refer to the Practice Guidance-Competency Support.

Association of Registered Professional Foresters of New Brunswick

of Self-Reported Continued Education Credits

Credits Overview:

  • May 5: 1 CEC
  • May 6: 5.75 CEC
  • May 7: 5.5 + 2.5 additional for auditors

Method for Submitting:

Members are required to maintain a Competency Program Tracking Form for their own records and self-submit their education records annually to the ARPFNB.
