11:00 am – 12:00 pm PT | Pre-conference webinar
Join an introductory call to learn more about the SFI Annual Conference, the expectations for youth delegates and conference advisors, and meet with other attendees.
11 am – 1 pm PT | Resume clinic
Preparation is key! Leading up to the conference, join our resume-clinic to get feedback on your resume. To participate, please submit your resume the Monday before the Friday event dates. (Due dates: Monday May 1st and Monday May 8th). Email resumes to: Maria.Chiarella@forests.org

Join us as we celebrate our SFI Annual Conference 2023 Youth Cohort! We will also introduce the Youth Programming Agenda and connect you to key staff and other conference supports. (A light breakfast will be served.)
9:30 am – 10:00 am PT | Networking 101 Workshop
10:00 am – 11:00 am PT | Elevator Pitch Workshop and Contest
Discover the components of a personal elevator pitch and how to customize it for different networking situations. Afterwards, participants will be encouraged to share their elevator pitches in front of judges for prizes!
11:00 am – 12:00 pm PT | Elevator Pitch Workshop and Contest

8:00 am – 9:00 am | IFSA side Event “Cafe Scientifque: Envisioning the Future of Forestry”
IFSA will host an inclusive, interdisciplinary discussion on ideas and visions for the future of forestry at multiple levels with four leaders in the fields of urban forestry, youth engagement, Indigenous rights, and policy for nature-based solutions.
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm | Lunch with Conference Mentors (optional)
- Don’t forget to say goodbye and thank your conference mentor! There will be tables reserved for youth and conference mentors.
- Drop by the Cowichan Room to pick up your Certificate of Completion anytime during lunch.
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm | PLT Training to Learn How to Use PLT Content, “Monitoring Forest Health” (optional)
Participants will learn how to conduct the forest conditions investigations using the “Forest Condition Indicators” worksheets. Part of the training will be hosted outdoors.
