HEALTH & SAFETY INFORMATION

SFI is committed to the health and safety of conference participants, staff and our many event partners joining us in Madison, WI, June 14-17, 2022. We continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic closely to implement appropriate precautions and protocols for the conference to minimize the risk of spreading or contracting COVID-19.

To promote a safe environment at the 2022 SFI|PLT Annual Conference and associated events over June 14-17, 2022, the following guidelines are provided:

  • Participants are encouraged to take a COVID-19 test in advance of travel.
  • All participants will receive a COVID-19 rapid antigen test at registration. While not required, we encourage everyone to take a test upon arrival and if exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms at any time during the conference.
  • Masks are optional but encouraged for all participants. (Please note: some local restaurants are still requiring masks, so be prepared when you’re out and about.)
  • Colo(u)red indicators will be available to demonstrate your comfort level when interacting with other participants.
  • While at the conference, if you feel unwell, please take appropriate precautions and alert Julia Hershberger via the Whova mobile app direct message or julia.hershberger@forests.org.

SFI and our event partners will comply with all applicable requirements imposed by federal, state, or local health authorities in Madison, Wisconsin. However, the responsibility for a safe and healthy event environment is shared among us all.  As such, in-person conference participants must comply with precautionary measures set in place at the time of the conference.

All conference communications will reflect our ability (and duty) to follow federal, state, local, and facility guidelines should they change at any point up to or during the conference. If any changes are required, we will alert our community as soon as possible to ensure compliance. Participants should be prepared to conform to latest requirements at the time of the conference.

Additionally, during the registration process, you’ll be asked to agree to these terms as set out below which are a condition of participation.

By registering to attend the 2022 SFI/PLT Annual Conference, you expressly agree to adhere to any and all COVID-19 protocols implemented by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, any facilities or venues at which the conference is to be held, any federal, state or local mandated or recommended protocols, or any third-party organizations providing services, recreation, or entertainment at the conference. Agreement by you to comply with applicable COVID-19 protocols is a condition of your attendance at the 2022 SFI/PLT Annual Conference.

Additionally, you agree to participate in and abide by all safety protocols implemented onsite by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. This may include, but is not limited to: wearing masks in public spaces, practicing social distancing, providing proof of a negative COVID-19 test (at attendee expense), temperature checking, completing health check questionnaires or self-assessments, proof of vaccination, not attending if suspected COVID-19 infection or close contact with infected individual, etc.
