SFI IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEES RESOURCES
PURPOSE
The requirements of the 2022 SFI Standards for Forest Management and Fiber Sourcing introduce new opportunities for engagement and collaboration via the SFI Implementation Committees (SICs). These opportunities focus on new or enhanced elements of the SFI 2022 Standards including:
- Climate-Smart Forestry (Forest Management Standard, Objective 9)
- Biodiversity/FECVs (Fiber Sourcing Standard, Objective 1).
- Fire Resilience and Awareness (Forest Management Standard, Objective 10)
This page is designed to share resources that have been developed and distributed and will be periodically updated as new resources are available.
The SFI 2022 Standards include requirements that promote and conserve Forests with Exceptional Conservation Value (FECV). Fact sheets were developed summarizing FECV habitat within select ecoregions and providing habitat management recommendations that would benefit species potentially found in those ecoregions. These fact sheets may be distributed to loggers, landowners, and others who own, manage, or conduct activities in the forests found in these ecoregions.
SFI has developed a set of SIC Playbooks that provide resources and actionable tips for SICs. The SIC Playbooks outline specific steps and resources that could be mobilized by SICs to maximize efficiency and impact of standards implementation. SIC Playbooks are currently available on these topics:
